Lake Macbride State offers fishing, picnicking, swimming, hiking, camping, boating and lots more. The park is located in two units. The northern unit lies at the end of County Road F-16, 4 miles west of Solon. Here you will find a modern campground, boat ramps, beach and boat rental, picnic areas and the park office. The southern unit is located off County Road F-28 (Fifth Street in Solon), 3 miles west of Solon. The southern unit offers a non-modern campground, boat ramps, picnic areas, and a prairie.

Amenities include:

  • Trails: Hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling; nature trail
  • Fishing: Lake (812 ac.); jetty; pier; walleye, channel catfish, crappie, bluegill, Kentucky spotted bass
  • Boating: Boat ramps on Lake Macbride, 10 Hp limit seasonally; boat ramp for Coralville Lake; any-size motor, no-wake speed during off-season
  • Swimming: Designated beach; playground nearby
  • Picnicking/Shelters: Picnic areas throughout the park; 2 enclosed shelters and 4 open shelters for reservation Lodge: 2 seasonal day use; available for reservation
  • Camping: (north) 31 electric, 10 full hook-ups; modern rest rooms and showers; dump station; (south) 61 non- electric; primitive, pit toilets; playgrounds nearby both campgrounds
