Don't miss STEAM Fest on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area Lodge, 579 McCollister Blvd. STEAM Fest invites children and adults of all ages to experience hands-on educational activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, led by local community groups. Iowa City Parks and Recreation will host an Interactive Erosion Table, a new educational resource funded by the DNR REAP Conservation Education Program. Other activities include making “Ooblek” with Iowa Biosciences Academy, lakeside fishing with Taproot Nature Experiences, a laparoscopic surgery demonstration by UI Healthcare STEM Outreach Education and many more. More than twenty organizations will host interactive activities.
Door prizes sponsored by University of Iowa Community Credit Union, IC Landscaping, Target, Cold Stone Ice Cream, Earl May, Iowa Children’s Museum, Molly’s Cupcakes, Monica’s, Scheels and more will also be given out.
